The speedboat rattles over the sea and brings us to our next destination – the five-star hotel
Pimalai on the Thai island Koh Lanta Yai. Even from a distance, we see the bright red villas along the Kantiang Bay at the southern end of the island. Shortly before we reach the beach the Captain releases the accelerator pedal and stopps at the hotel’s private jetty.
This luxury resort is one of the “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” and is located at a long bay with a beautiful sandy beach! When we arrive a welcoming committee greets us with flowers and loads our luggage in a golf caddy, because our pool villa is located high on the mountain. With our suitcases it would have been an exhausting walk!
Our own pool villa
Curiously, I open the door to our own “villa on time” and enter the heart of the 200 square meter area: The large terrace with private infinity pool and a stunning sea view!
The villa is spacious and provides a lot of space for two people! On the left side of the pool is the house with bedroom and living room …
… the walk-in closet, a huge bathroom with tub, shower and separate toilet (with sea view!).
On the other side there is another house with a living room including TV, sound system, furnished terrace and even a kitchen!
Honestly? Most of the time we spent in our luxury villa. When I woke up in the morning at sunset, I went the five meters to the pool, jumped into the water and had a beautiful view over the sea. What a perfect start in the morning! Also in the evening the last action was to take a swim in the beautifully lit pool. In the distance, the lights of the fishing boats are already twinkling … really romantic!
Breakfast with a view
The breakfast buffet was served on a huge terrace high up on the hillside. From our villa it was only a short walk through the lush green garden.
There are fresh fruit, an omelet station serves fresh scrambled eggs. But the best part is the view here!
Who’s not staying in one of the pool villas, but in one of the nearly 50-square-meter deluxe rooms down near the beach, spend the day at the large pool (of course with a view) or on the beach.
A total of eight restaurants and bars serving Thai and European cuisine with a large selection of wines.
Wellness and sport at Pimalai
Massages and beauty treatments are offered in the hotel’s Spa Pimalai, and who wants to do sports, plays tennis, volleyball or can cycle by mountain bike around the island. Sea kayaks are also free of charge and you can easily paddle into the next bay. At this beach you are almost alone!
Those who opt for the Pimalai, should definitely book the pool villa! I cannot think of a better start in the day than jumping into a private pool before breakfast!
You can book the hotel for example at Lotus Travel .
