Our first destination is the stud of the owner. Senior partner Karl Reiter bought his first horses in 1975, later he got Lipizzaner horses from the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Today the stud is with 40 molds one of the largest private Lipizzaner breeds in Europe. I book a ride with one of the noble white horses for the next day. As I experienced the first gallop on the Alm, you read here Lipizzaner-Ritt am Achensee.

In the afternoon we explore the dreamlike spa – certainly the highlight of the hotel. First, I swim a few laps in the spacious outdoor pool, then I relax in one of the saltwater pools and enjoy the beneficial effect – with panoramic views of the Karwendel Mountains.

As the sun slowly sets behind the mountain peaks and so I visit the sauna area. For the first round I choose the 90 degree hot log sauna next to the yin-yang pool. Then I tried the Tyrolean sauna, here you can relax with pleasant 59 degrees.

The most beautiful area is the “Sunken Temple”, which lies in the depths of the mountain under the hotel. A narrow corridor leads to the mysterious realm with dragon and temple saunas, ice fountains and a Kneipp path. Here you can relax in very cozy cuddle nests with a starry sky and lounge music and unwind within minutes from the daily grind.
