Rooftop-Pool with a view – Hotel Riva in Konstanz

A breeze softly moves the tall reeds, beige sun beds spread over several small islands of tranquility between the plants. On the roof terrace of the Hotel Riva in Konstanz I am enjoying the last warm rays of the late summer sun and the view of Lake Constance. White sailboats cross between the traditional tour boats that leave from Constance to the flower island of Mainau. In the background, quietly flows the bright blue, year round heated pool.

HotelRiva_Aussenansicht Hotel Riva Konstanz is located directly on the promenade on the western shore of Lake Constance within walking distance of the old town of Constance. In addition to the historic Art Nouveau villa with barred windows and dark tiles opened in mid-2008 a new, modern building with lots of glass and selected design elements. The orientation of the entire hotel to the lake played an important role for owner Peter Kolb. All rooms are oriented toward the water, large windows offer beautiful views of the lake.

HotelRiva_Panoramasuite Peter Kolb and his wife Birgit have dealt much with the design of the hotel. So I already have a perfect view during breakfast from the elevated terrace across the promenade with its plane trees. Rollerbladers, cyclists and joggers are early on the road, some guests even swim despite the cool temperatures in Lake Constance.

HotelRiva_Pool While enjoying regional cuisine in the restaurant Riva or a gourmet meal in Ophelia on the first floor of the villa the guests also have a nice view of the lake. Only from spa, guests have the adjacent Villa in view. But the comings and goings around the casino is also worth seeing.
